Website

The current code of this website does not include user accounts, sign-in, forms, analytics, telemetry, advertising, tracking pixels, or its own data collection systems. It also does not use cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, or IndexedDB.

The visual resources, scripts, and fonts required to display the website are served from the same site. The website does not make automatic requests to Discord or other external services during a visit.

The provider hosting the website may process technical data required to deliver the content, such as the IP address, date and time, requested URL, user agent, or connection headers.

Personal data

PostFormat does not require users to create an account or sign in, and it does not include its own telemetry, advertising, or usage analytics system.

PostFormat does not send information about the user, detected hardware, installed applications, application preferences, or actions performed within it to its own server.

Device information

To provide its features, PostFormat may locally query system information, such as the Windows version and certain data about the processor, graphics card, memory, motherboard, BIOS, storage, network, displays, drivers, and supported security features.

It may also query the status of certain Windows settings, installed applications, Microsoft Defender, Windows Update, and restore points. This information is used during execution to display the device status and provide the corresponding features.

The queried inventory is not stored as its own persistent inventory or sent to a PostFormat server.

Information stored locally

PostFormat stores its preferences in %LOCALAPPDATA%\PostFormat\preferences.json. These may include prior confirmation of installations, tutorial status, and the initial checklist.

The local history is stored in %LOCALAPPDATA%\PostFormat\action-history.json. It may include the action performed, its category and result, the date and time, the affected target, and internal detail codes.

These files remain on the device. PostFormat does not transmit them to its own server. The history can be cleared from the application.

Downloads of supported installers use local temporary files during the operation. PostFormat attempts to delete them when finished; an interruption or system crash may prevent this cleanup.

Third-party services and applications

Some actions requested by the user may open or use external components and services, such as Windows, WinGet, Microsoft Store, official manufacturer pages, or official application installers.

When the user interacts with those services or applications, the privacy policies and terms of the corresponding provider may apply. PostFormat does not control or claim as its own any processing carried out directly by those third parties.

Internet connections

Some features may require an Internet connection, for example to query or install applications through WinGet, open Microsoft Store, access official pages, or download official installers following a user action.

PostFormat does not use those connections to send its own telemetry or create user profiles. External providers may receive the technical data inherent to a connection to their services and apply their respective policies.

Discord and contact channel

The current public channel for community, contact, and access is the official Discord server. The website only contacts Discord when the user voluntarily opens one of its links.

Once Discord is opened, its operation and the processing carried out by the platform are governed by its own policies. PostFormat and the optional GYP Opti service share this channel, but they are separate services and GYP Opti is not part of the PostFormat software.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if the features of PostFormat, the website, public hosting, or the way information is processed change.

The published version should be interpreted according to the behavior of the corresponding version of PostFormat and this website.
